09 NOV 08 - Day off - Jetlagged to hell and gone!
My bodyclock is so screwed up I can’t EVEN begin to describe it! But since I was up at 3AM I put the new tribike (hereafter referred to as Zippy) together. Zippy’s a Specialized carbon-fiber entity. Will ride him in a day or two to get acquainted with his personality.

06 Nov 08 - Dude…Just Run!
Nothing fancy here. Probably the first run I’ve managed to do in 6 weeks that resembles anything like an actual run. I’m pleased and not pleased. On the one hand, my conditioning is slowly improving to where I can actually hold an average of a sub 12 min mile without dying - or the Suunto saying I’m dying. On the other hand, I’m nowhere near a run pace of 9 min/mile. Patience is a virtue I guess.

05 Nov 08 - The morphing Spinning Workout
Did 30 min on a spinner at the Macdill gym. Then got up and ran at 75% effort for one lap around the track followed by ab work on the infield. Noticed that my HR really jacked up when I did the mini-brick transitioning into the run. REALLY need to try and relax during that nasty transition. Will improve with more aerobic conditioning over time.

04 Nov 08 - 5k Pace interval drill
TE = 4.1
10 min warmup w/3×20 seconds @ 95% effort
2x 6min @ 5k Pace (10min/mile right now), then 4 min easy jog
10 min easy jog
3x 10 reps pushups/j-situps after finish of run
This is a great workout. Need to build up to 4 sets of intervals.
Note: forgot to turn on the GPS pod until halfway into the workout so the 5k pace is kind of an approximation.
